So evenly beat the rhythms of the watch,

Not changing with our breath or the seasons of the sun and moon.

What do we win and what do we forsake

When we time our gatherings and lives with gears and crystals?

We search for ways to dip into timelessness, free of heart or sun or gear,

The non-changing goal of all our wishes,

The non-changing source of all our wishes.

And, when we succed in  dipping,

We act alive within the world of clocks,

And subtly bring the human calendar to life,

Bring the human calendar to the time of timelessness.
